Hey there! I’m Timilah and I’m so glad you are here!

I love God and I’ve made it my mission to never stop learning what it means to delight in Him in every area of my life. I am sharing my journey with the everyday woman in mind because though anyone can read and be encouraged by what is shared here, I believe there are women from all walks of life looking for a safe space to learn what it looks like to live for God in every season. I am creating space for us to grow together!

I am the wife to my husband Sherrod and together, we have 5 beautiful children, a daughter Savannah, a son Titus, a daughter Alivia, and two sweet angels in heaven, Sharlotte and Grace. I’m also a registered nurse, a career I enjoy secondary to my family and home. We live in the city of Richmond and we are a part of a wonderful church community.

When I’m not homeschooling my kids and tackling home projects, you are most likely to find me on a nature trail. It’s my happy place secondary to writing. I love people and learning more about them in small intimate settings. I hope to get to know some of you!

So let’s talk about Delighting Daily.

2017 was a turning point in my life. I experienced pregnancy loss when I was only 20 weeks pregnant with my second baby and it rocked my world. Life seemed to go downhill from there and soon I was beginning to feel empty and hopeless in my walk with Jesus. One day while scrolling on YouTube, I happened upon a video of well-known theologian and pastor John Piper speaking for the Passion conference 2018. He was teaching about what it means to delight in God saying that true joy and abundance in life is not found in things that can be here today and gone tomorrow, but in Jesus Christ. It changed my life!

Through that sermon, Piper helped me to understand one of my favorite bible verses in a whole new way. Psalm 37:4 says “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart (ESV).” The value of delighting in the Lord is not centered around what I can get from Him or how I feel, but how I’m transformed when I seek to enjoy and glorify Him with my life.

So many of us live our whole lives having only a shallow relationship with God. He wants us to know Him deeply. Knowing Him helps us to entrust our lives in His hands. In Him we find true hope, freedom, joy, and peace. I want to foster a community of people who desire to grow and be challenged in all areas of life, especially in their relationship with God. Would you join me?
